Three plaques, illegal work in the Museum of Modern Art, Frankfurt

The plaques named „Muted murmur“, „Squeaking“, „Creak and click“ were placed in specific locations throughout the museum describing typical sounds heard in those locations. Visitors generated the sounds by quietly whispering, scuffling along the parquet floor and calling for the elevator whose door creaked and clicked. Through the plaques which define art in museums, ordinary sound was observed and therefore seen as art.
